Dell Chromebook 11 – Design Features:

The Dell Chromebook 11 has a sleek and stylish dark design that will fit fantastically into most 11 inch laptop cases. As a Chromebook it has the minimal ports and connections for you to use. It has all of the needed connections and more, it has a USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port which means you will be able to use a couple of peripherals at once. The Chromebook also has a HDMI output and SD input making this a fantastic presentation device. There is also a headphone and power jack for sound and charging. The overall Chromebook dimensions are 11.7 x 8.6 x 0.8 inches and weighs in at 2.8 pounds, which is a little heavier (roughly half a pound) than its competitors.

Keyboard and Trackpad:

The keyboard is obviously small as the screen is only 11.6 inches, however this does not take away from its utility. The size of the keys is a little bit smaller which will slow you down a little compared to a full sized keyboard, but this is the price we pay for compact design. The button less trackpad is smooth and gives no issues to the user using multi finger touch shortcuts.

For an 11.6 inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 (HD resolution), the Dell Chromebook 11 has surprisingly good color and contrast for a computer at this price range. The resolution is adequate for watching movies and if you need something a little sharper or vibrant then the HDMI port will give you the ability to connect it to most televisions and monitors.

Dell Chromebook 11 – Inside the Machine:

With a 2.16GHz Intel Celeron CPU N2840, the Dell Chromebook 11 can stream videos, create word documents and run many different applications seamlessly. Obviously for this price range you aren’t expecting to play high-end games or run complex processing taxing software’s, however it meets all standards for a great Chromebook. The Dell Chromebook 11 has 4Gb of RAM and a solid state hard drive with 16Gb of internal memory, which of course can be extended with a good quality SD card.

The battery stands towards the top end of the pack for Chromebooks of this range with roughly ten hours of use for continuous web surfing, which makes it a great device to tether to your phone or use at public WiFi hotspots to keep in touch with others or simply get some light work done. Packing a 720p webcam into this Chromebook has left the overall video quality a little to be desired, in terms of color accuracy and graininess, but it will surely suffice for use in business video chats and other use on the move.
