Thanks to their affordability, sturdy build quality and an unmatched customer support from Dell, they became a huge success all over the world. The Dell Vostro 14 3000 is a new generation of budget-friendly notebooks that look great, cost less and do not compromise on performance. In the following sections, we review this notebook series by discussing each of its specifications.

Dell Vostro 14 3000 – Design:

The Vostro 14’s all-black, ribbed plastic lid looks solid and sports a Dell logo at its center. The 14-inch display is surrounded by a thick bezel that goes well with the design while keeping the display firmly in place. The island-style keyboard looks great and feels extremely comfortable even when you type for a long duration. Weighing 4.4 pounds and measuring 13.6 x 9.6 x 0.9 inches, the Vostro 14 notebooks are lighter than many 14-inch laptops from other brands.

Dell Vostro 14 3000 – Performance and Configurations:

The 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5-6200U CPU under the machine’s hood is perfectly coupled with a 4GB RAM to deliver plenty of processing speed. The machine has no lag whatsoever even when you run multiple applications at once. On Geekbench 3, the Vostro 14 earned a performance benchmark of 4,618 which is pretty good for an entry level laptop. As of onboard storage, the notebook has a 500 GB HHD running at 5,400 rpm.

Apart from the above-mentioned configuration, the Vostro 14 3000 series has three more variants. The top-end model features a Core i5-6200U processor, 8 GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon R5 graphics card. There is another mid-level model running on the Core i3-5005U CPU. However, the basic variant comes with an Intel Celeron 3215U processor and we do not recommend it (it is very slow).

Dell Vostro 14 3000 – Display and Battery life:

The 14-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 (HD) displays every sharp detail. The viewing angles, however, are not so great past 45 degrees, but for a budget laptop, it is perfectly okay. Moreover, most business users place their laptops right in front of them, so this will never be a concern.

The Dell Vostro 14 3000 has a decent battery life of approximately 6.5 hours with the Wi-Fi antenna switched on.

Dell Vostro 14 3000 – Software and Warranty:

The laptop ships in with Dell’s own software like the Power Manager. When it comes to bloatware, there is nothing other than Candy Crush Saga and Flipboard. Dell provides a standard one-year warranty on this laptop, but you may extend it to three years by paying some additional price (around $83).

The Vostro 14 packs an array of ports to provide ample room for peripherals and expanded storage. On the left side, you’ll find a power port, a VGA port, an SD card slot and a USB 3.0 port. On the right, you can find a headphone/mic jack, a CD/DVD drive, 2 USB ports and a security lock slot.

Dell Vostro 14 3000 – Camera and Audio:

The notebook’s 720p webcam pulls out enough details and works great for conference calls. The speakers placed on the bottom produce crystal clear sound. Furthermore, the Dell Audio App does a fantastic job in adjusting the audio settings.

The Dell Vostro 14 3000 is the most affordable notebook available for small businesses and mobile professionals. The bright screen, easy-to-use keyboard, and a good battery life make it a wonderful machine that never lets you down.
